Continuous improvement and exceptionally high standards

The IB Evaluation found that QMC is committed to continuous improvement and holds itself to exceptionally high standards. One of the most affirming outcomes of the review was the contrast between QMC's own assessment and that of the external evaluation team. In several areas where we saw opportunities for growth, reviewers found QMC was already exceeding programme requirements or demonstrating notable development.

The evaluators repeatedly highlighted QMC’s strengths in evidence-informed decision making to inform continuous improvement. They highlighted our:

  • effective use of data and research
  • evidence-informed planning
  • monitoring and evaluation
  • strategic improvement cycles

The evaluators highlighted specific programme development plans including strengthening self-management and social skills of PYP students, enhancing community engagement in the MYP and continuing to develop the research and thinking skills of IB Diploma students.

Continuous improvement is embedded in the College's approach, with leaders and staff consistently looking for ways to strengthen learning, wellbeing and student outcomes.

The finding reflects a culture that is never satisfied with standing still, continually looking for ways to improve, innovate and provide an even stronger experience for students.

  • Further strengthen coherence and continuity across the IB continuum.

  • Increase parent understanding of IB programmes, policies and approaches.

The evaluation team highlighted opportunities in the PYP to:

  • Deepen global connections and international-mindedness through authentic learning experiences.
  • Provide more opportunities for students to develop a shared understanding of feedback and develop through purposeful self-reflection and peer assessment.

The evaluation team highlighted opportunities in the MYP to:

  • Create additional opportunities for student-led inquiry and learner agency.

The evaluation team highlighted opportunities in the IBDP to:
