Jayne-Ann Young commenced as Principal at Queen Margaret College in August 2017. Jayne-Ann returned to New Zealand for the role after spending six years as a consultant and master trainer for Professor John Hattie and the Visible Learning team at Cognition Education.
Anne Winnall – Deputy Principal, Teaching and Learning
Anne brings 35 years of experience in education to the role of Deputy Principal, Teaching and Learning. Having recently joined us after 10 years as the Director at Samuel Marsden Whitby, Anne’s breadth of curriculum knowledge, coupled with her expertise for empowering learners, is of the highest calibre.
Marianne Duston – Deputy Principal, Wellbeing
Supporting and nurturing students to thrive and be their best is at the heart of what Marianne brings to the college in her role as Deputy Principal. Her experience delivering innovative and best-practice education and empowering leaders stands out in a distinguished career in high performing independent schools.
Jan Treeby – Head of Junior School
Jan’s hands-on approach means that all our youngest students will get to know QMC’s Head of Junior School. Her 26 years in education combines leadership experience in Wellington schools, but also behavioural and learning-focused roles at the Ministry for Education.
Paul Sherris – Deputy Principal, Operations
After a decade in the business world, Paul chose to retrain as an educator and pursue a career that felt more personally meaningful. Since joining us in 2014, Paul has become invaluable to the operations of the College, using his breadth of experience to facilitate the quality of learning and care that QMC is renowned for.
Rebecca Mannion – Business Manager
Rebecca brings finance and governance skills from her 16 year international career with a multi-national. She is a QMC parent and is passionate about enabling the teaching and learning at QMC through efficient use of resources, business and facilities planning, and effective back-office support.
