Three Independent Reviews. One Consistent Story.

What happens when parents, students, staff, international education experts and independent researchers all examine a school from different perspectives?

Recently, Queen Margaret College participated in three significant independent evaluations. Each review examined a different aspect of school life, used a different methodology, and was conducted by a different organisation.

Despite these differences, all three arrived at remarkably similar and overwhelmingly positive conclusions.

Together, they paint a consistent picture of a school where students thrive academically, feel connected and supported, develop the capabilities needed for an increasingly complex world, and are well prepared for life beyond school.

Different perspectives. Similar conclusions.

Each review examined QMC through a different lens:

  • The Thriving Schools Index captured the experiences and perspectives of parents, students and staff.
  • The International Baccalaureate Evaluation assessed the quality and effectiveness of QMC's Year 1-13 educational programmes against international standards.
  • The PISA Study explored academic achievement, wellbeing and future readiness through international assessment and student voice.

While each had a different purpose and methodology, all three arrived at remarkably similar and overwhelmingly positive conclusions. Together, they reinforce QMC's strengths in academic excellence, student wellbeing, future readiness and continuous improvement.

The consistency across these independent evaluations provides valuable confidence that the strengths identified are not isolated findings. Rather, they are part of a broader and well-established pattern of QMC preparing students to thrive academically, personally and beyond school in an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving world.

Consistent themes and strengths emerged across all three reviews:

Academic Excellence

Students are achieving highly and developing the knowledge, skills and capabilities needed for success beyond school.

Wellbeing

Students consistently report feeling safe, supported and cared for.

Belonging

Students report strong relationships with teachers and leaders, and a sense of being known, included, connected and valued.

Future-Focused Learning

Students are developing curiosity, critical thinking, research skills and adaptability for a rapidly evolving world.

Leadership & Direction

Parents, students and staff report high levels of trust and confidence in the College's leadership and strategic direction.

Continuous Improvement

QMC actively seeks feedback, evidence and independent evaluation to strengthen outcomes for students and families.

Alignment with our Strategic Plan

Together, these findings validate that we are delivering on our vision as a school and that the direction set through our Strategic Plan is preparing young women who are equipped to navigate a rapidly evolving world with confidence and purpose.

Across all three reviews, we see strong alignment with priorities at the heart of our Strategic Plan: developing future-focused learners, empowering resilient learners who flourish academically and personally, and fostering engaged young people who contribute positively to their communities.

It is particularly encouraging to see these priorities reflected not only in the experiences of our students, parents and staff, but also in independent research, international assessment and expert educational evaluation.
