Queen's Edge Years 7-9 Extra-Curricular Programme

Queen’s Edge is an exciting after-school extra-curricular programme designed especially for students in Year 7, 8 and 9.

Queen’s Edge courses aim to develop students’ skills, talents and passions, expand their knowledge and world view, cultivate essential life skills and foster a life-long love of learning.

Our tutors are not only passionate practitioners but also leading experts in their fields, dedicated to inspiring and nurturing the next generation of courageous learners at QMC.

Information about courses offered in Term 1 2026 will be available in early 2026. Each term we offer fresh experiences in the Queen's Edge courses.

  • Chinese Culture Club (Chinese calligraphy, dance & culture)
  • Karate Queens (Marudào karate)

  • The Hellenic Hangout series:
    • Hellenic Hangout: Dance (Traditional Greek dancing)
    • Hellenic Hangout: History & Mythology (Greek history, mythology, culture and famous sites)
    • Hellenic Hangout: Myths & Legends (Ancient Greek myths & legends)
  • Queen of Hearts (Service & volunteering)
  • CheckMates! (Chess)
  • Queen's Grace (ballroom dancing)
  • Queen's Shield (Self-defense)
  • Queen's Guard (Civil Defence)
  • Sweet Queen's Creations (Cake decorating and sugar art)
  • Queen's Feast (Cooking, baking, and experimenting with exotic herbs and spices)
  • Dancing Queens (Bollywood and Street Latin dance)
  • Queen's Workshop (Foamsmithing (creating foam props and costume armour).

Important information

  • We recommend all students take with them a small snack for afternoon tea and a drink bottle.
  • We aim to grow the Queen's Edge programme throughout the year to continue to provide more opportunity for growth and development. Please read the Queen's Edge Terms and Conditions before registering your student's interest.

Dates for each term in 2026 to be confirmed:

  • Term 1: Courses will likely run from Week 5 to Week 11. Each course will have approximately 7 sessions.
  • Term 2: Courses will likely run from Week 2 to Week 8. Each course will have approximately 7 sessions.
  • Term 3: Courses will likely run from Week 2 to Week 8. Each course will have approximately 7 sessions.
  • Term 4: Courses will likely run from Week 2 to Week 8. Each course will have approximately 7 sessions.


About charges and refunds

  • All Queen's Edge courses are charged per term to your QMC Account. Our booking system, Trybooking, will list the event as ‘free’, this is because the fee will not be taken by Trybooking, but instead charged to your QMC Account.
  • In order to cover the upfront costs associated with conducting the Queen's Edge programme and courses, refunds are not available if a student is not able to attend any of the days.
