Our results

Queen Margaret College is proud to celebrate the exceptional academic results of the Class of 2025. These results reflect not only the depth of academic opportunity at QMC, but also the strength of our teaching and educational programmes, the commitment of our students, and the unwavering support of their families.

Deputy Principal – Learning and Teaching, Holly Payne, shares the exceptional academic results of the Class of 2025 across both the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) and National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA). See below for a summary of results.

Excellent Results with a Dual Pathway Designed for Choice and Challenge

We offer a genuine dual‑pathway model - the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) – empowering students to choose the qualification that best aligns with their strengths, aspirations, and learning style.

From Year 11, students engage in our bespoke ELEVATE learning programme, gaining a full NCEA Level 1 qualification while building the skills and confidence needed for NCEA Level 2 or the IB Diploma. This intentional design ensures every student is well prepared for senior study – whichever pathway they choose.

The outstanding achievements of this year’s cohort reflect the skill and commitment of our teachers, the strength of our supportive learning environment, and the determination shown by our students.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) Results 2025

As an IB World School offering the International Baccalaureate from Preschool to Year 13, QMC is committed to developing globally minded, intellectually curious young people. The IB Diploma challenges students in Years 12 and 13 to think critically, collaborate, and make connections across disciplines – preparing them for a rapidly changing world where adaptability and breadth of knowledge are essential.

In 2025, 44 students – half of the cohort – elected to take the Diploma. Congratulations to the Class of 2025 for their exceptional results:

  • 98% pass rate, continuing QMC’s long tradition of excellence (including 12 perfect pass rates in the last 15 years).
  • Average score of 34 points, significantly higher than the global average of 29.3.
  • 84% of students achieved the World Average Score or above.
  • 9 students (20%) achieved 40+ points, placing them in the top 10% of IB students worldwide. Congratulations to Yovela Li, Karmen Lin, Emma Tohill, Chloe Moreham-Smith, Chantal Chin, Audrey Kung, Kira Sharma, Misia Hosie, and Madeleine Wilson on this incredible accomplishment.
  • Special congratulations to Misia Hosie who achieved a remarkable 44 points and to our 2025 IB Dux, Madeleine Wilson, who achieved a perfect score of 45 – a result earned by fewer than 1% of IB students in the world.
  • 3 students earned bilingual diplomas, demonstrating exceptional linguistic and cultural capability.

These results reflect the expertise of our IB teaching staff – many of whom are experienced IB examiners, trainers, and workshop leaders – and the personalised support offered through one-to-one mentoring, subject help rooms, and robust data tracking.

National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Results 2025

A huge congratulations to all QMC students who achieved NCEA in 2025. QMC students achieved outstanding success across all levels of NCEA, demonstrating the strength of teaching and learning in this pathway.

  • We particularly commend our international students, with 100% of Levels 2 and 3 international students achieving their NCEA, and all Level 2 international students receiving Merit or Excellence endorsements.
  • Year 10 corequisite success:
    • 100% of students passed numeracy – nearly double the national average of 48%.

These achievements highlight the strength of our teaching, the effectiveness of targeted support programmes, and the determination of our students.

Queen Margaret College warmly congratulates the Class of 2025 and wishes them every success as they embark on the next stage of their journeys. We look forward to seeing them contribute with courage, curiosity, and compassion on the global stage.
