Performing Arts

Being involved in the Performing Arts is not only a great creative outlet, it also enhances your daughters’ learning and social development.

Music, dance and drama are incorporated into the units of work throughout the year. In Year 1-6 all students have the opportunity to participate in a musical or drama production, helping to build confidence, relationships and collaborative skills.

String Programme

Students in year 3 and 4 are taught how to play the violin, viola and cello by exceptionally qualified musicians.

Band Programme

Students in year 5 and 6 can can continue with their string instrument or move onto a wind instrument and choose from the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, bassoon, oboe or percussion.

Show time

We offer a wide range of extracurricular Performing Arts opportunities, including major biennial productions, House Performing Arts, a number of choirs, instrumental ensembles, a Pasifika performance group (Te Whānau o Kuīni Mākareta), Shakespeare festivals, and specialist lessons in instrumental music, singing, Speech and Drama.

Inspiring facilities

A purpose built music suite, an excellent performance space, auditorium and a number of tuition rooms give students confidence and support to thrive. We also have two well-equipped Drama classrooms and our staff are widely experienced as both performers and teachers.
