Our wonderful Maia Mariner has been recognised by Her Majesty The Queen with a Commonwealth Points of Light Award.

This award acknowledges outstanding volunteers whose service is making a difference in their community and whose story can inspire others to creative innovative solutions to social challenges.

Maia has enabled more than 2,000 young New Zealanders to participate in sport thanks to her community organisation, Lazy Sneakers, which collects and redistributes reusable sneakers for free.

This is incredibly special, Maia. You are an inspiring young woman.
