Queen Margaret Preschool is a co-educational inner city Preschool for boys and girls aged three and four years old. Our small and friendly Preschool places great importance on developing a close relationship between the child, teacher and the family.
We implement a programme using two curriculum frameworks: Te Whāriki and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP).
The programme is shaped by the belief that young children are capable learners and are well positioned to acquire early literacy and numeracy skills.
Children’s portfolios are available for parents online through Storypark. Portfolios provide parents with invaluable information about their child’s learning and development.
Queen Margaret Preschool’s fees are competitive within the Wellington region and is open 48 weeks of the year. The Preschool is open Monday to Friday 7.30am – 5.30pm.
We have a highly qualified and experienced teaching team who share the same teaching philosophy and committed to facilitating a high quality education and nurturing environment for children.
“Our daughter Jessica (6) is a QMC Preschool alumnae and our son Edward (4) is currently enrolled there. We have found the Preschool to be well equipped, enjoying a brand-new residence and play-area with access to the main school’s library and gymnasium. The quality of teaching staff is the school’s greatest asset. The teachers are supportive and engaging; they have a great rapport with both children and parents. Jessica’s transition to the Junior School was particularly well-managed. We are delighted with the progress Jessica and Edward are making at QMC.” Sarah Wales – Current Preschool and Junior School Parent.
“Queen Margaret Preschool is an amazing start to your child’s journey in education. The staff are so dedicated, and consistently go above and beyond always exceeding our expectations. You couldn’t ask for a better place to invest in your child’s future.” Angela Henry, Current Preschool Parent.
“Since enrolling Ava at Queen Margaret Preschool we are seeing marvelous social growth. She’s thriving, becoming confident and independent under the guidance of the wonderful supportive teachers in a welcoming and nurturing environment. Ava is always excited to tell us about her day and loves talking about the activities and her experiences at school.” Susan Ward – Current Preschool Parent.
