Queen Margaret College and Scots College share their Founders and the site of their founding. Originally, Scots College was in Hobson Street but, as the need for bigger grounds grew, Scots College moved to its present site in Strathmore. However, a few boys continued to attend the newly founded Queen Margaret College.
Today the connection with our brother school continues to be strong. Both schools are authorised to deliver the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in 2010 and Primary Programmes (PYP) and are candidate schools Middle Years (MYP) Programmes.
The schools participate in a joint exchange to St Andrews, an independent school in Christchurch, and in language exchanges to Baudimont School, France, and to two IB schools in Vina del Mar in Chile.
A year-long sporting competition involves all students with the QUOTS shield, being awarded to the winning school at an award ceremony. Symbolically, the shield is made from kauri, salvaged from the Old Hall during its recent renovation.
