Stepping Up

Our Middle School programme provides an ideal foundation for Senior School. These years are very important for future success as during that time, girls build those skills and competencies necessary for them to become independent learners.

Small classes, dedicated teachers and the learner-centred approach support students in their development as independent, confident young women who have a love of learning.

The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) is currently being implemented, the philosophy of which fits perfectly with our beliefs about Middle School students and our existing holistic approach to education. MYP aims to help students develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to participate responsibly in a changing and increasingly inter-related world. 

Being at the forefront of girls' education is important to us, as it ensures we provide your daughter with the best quality education, this is highlighted through being an IB World school and our 1:1 Laptop programme. The 1:1 Laptop programme plays a key role within the Middle School curriculum along with the following;

• An integrated approach
• Specialist teachers
• ICT
• Mathematics
• Performing Arts Programme
• Many individual and team exchanges within and beyond NZ
• Subject support and extension
• Second language(s) for all Year 7, 8 and 9 students
• EOTC opportunities

This model demonstrates how our girls Step in, Step up and Step outthrough the holistic education which is offered by Queen Margaret College from Pre-School through Year 13.
